Sorry for such long hiatus. Didn’t have time to make any review on any animes. However I’ve watched lots of them during the hiatus period and one of them was Yakitate! Ja-Pan.

Azuma and his gang

First of all, it is a story that completely involve the food called breads. Yes, the very bread that you eat everyday. The title “Yakitate!” means “Freshly Baked” and Ja-Pan is supposedly represents the national bread of Japan, which will be explained further later on. And Pan is a Japanese word for bread.

It is a story about a young Japanese boy named Azuma Kazuma who was at first disliked bread because the regular meal that he always had was rice. And one day her sister had forced him to eat one of the breads in a bakery shop that was just recently opened in the neighbourhood.

And from that moment the boy was exposed by the delightful taste of breads and later on, bit by bit became interested to learn on how to create one along with the owner of the of bakery shop. And later he came to realize that the are many types of breads that represents their countries such as French Bread, German Bread and Italian Bread, but there is no bread that represents Japan. From this thought he aimed into making one (Ja-Pan)

But at the same time he learned to know that he possessed a great gift in making breads which is the dream to have for every bakers, that is the legendary Solar Hands, which was actually a pair of hands that are a lot more warmer than a normal human hands temperature. In bread baking business, with the use of Solar Hands allows the dough that is used to making bread to ferment faster.

The story goes on until he grew older and later on set out on a journey to discover the world breads by first going to the famous bread maker in Japan called Pantasia. From there he gained friends and battled out with other great bakers in order to achieve one step closer in realizing his goal, in making the ultimate bread, Ja-Pan.
